About THE IMPRINTER

Injury leads to Innovation:

While riding, lifelong horseman and professional trainer Steve Foley, was thrown and found himself under a violently kicking horse with his foot caught in the stirrup. That accident made him consider there must be a safer way to earn a living!

Upon healing and some deep soul searching, Steve returned to training horses because, frankly, there was nothing he would rather do. However the seeds of a safer training device had been sown and the idea for THE IMPRINTER began to form. Combining his previous welding experience along with his knowledge of buggies and carriages, Steve developed, tested and perfected THE IMPRINTER.

Steve’s good horse sense paid off in a safer, gentler and more efficient way to train not only horses but also riders! THE IMPRINTER is now a permanent addition to Steve’s training program and has been used on over 100 horses as of 2010.

About Steve Foley-Horse Trainer, Innovator & Safety Enthusiast

Like many who develop a lifelong affinity for all things equine, Steve Foley began his love affair with horses as a child. Steve purchased his first horse at the age of 12 with money he earned working on the family farm. Because he did an excellent job with his own horse, friends and neighbors began asking him to ride some of their problem horses-it was the beginning of his passion for training horses.

After serving in the Marines, Steve returned to Alabama where he gained experience in welding and fabrication. His love of horses prevailed, however, and he returned to training horses-only now professionally. Over the last 30 years, Steve has trained thousands of horses, instructed others and has hosted team penning, sorting and ranch cutting events at his home-ranch. He continues to follow his heart training and showing horses to this day.
